Rhabdoid Research
In June the Emily Cook Foundation is planning a dinner and auction to raise money for a fund at Columbia University. This fund was set up by a family of one of our Rhabdoid Angels, Anthony Tuzzo. They have already raised the amount of 21,000 for this fund. We hope to add 25,000 to that this summer. We have chosen Columbia Univeristy, because they are currently researching this cancer. However, main reason we have chosen Columbia is beacuse it makes no sense for us (Emily Cook Foundation) to fund our own research or start a research fund up. We feel a cure is in numbers, and money. It is cruel, but we will never fund enough research unless we raise enough money to get noticed, and in order for us to do that we must join together to do that. The Tuzzo's have invented a wheel for us so we do not need to reinvent it.
Anthony's Grandmother is asking us to write a letter to Oprah. Tell her how Rhabdoid has affected your life and how awarness is so important. I encourage everyone to write a letter, including people who have been reading stories, even though your child was not affected by Rhabdoid, your life has been in some way. Anthony's Aunt will be sending our stories to Oprah, her address is sdennehy@pershing.com
As I receive information from Columbia Univeristy I will be updating the pages. There is no reason however to not start giving now. On this page you will find a link to Anothy's story, and where you can send your donation. I will also be adding links to other families who are trying aid in research for a cure.
Thank you,
Julie Cook
